Too many books, too little time! 2014 was a great year in the Young Adult book world. Unfortunately, I was stuck in a reading slump for half the year! So now, in early 2015, I'm trying to catch up on all the 2014 novels so that I'm ready for the 2015 releases. Le sigh!
Anyway, here is a list of the YA books I'm most excited about for 2015.
Fairest by Marissa Meyer
January 27
Summary:
Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?
Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story—a story that has never been told … until now.
Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from WINTER, the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series.
Um, hello?! The backstory of evil Queen Levana from The Lunar Chronicles? Must read! And look at the cover! So creepy and intriguing, yet so beautiful. Totally captured how I pictured Levana! I need this in my life ASAP. I'm rereading The Lunar Chronicles now just to refresh myself for when this and Winter come out this year!
The Ruby Circle (Bloodlines #6) by Richelle Mead
February 10
Summary:
The epic conclusion to Richelle Mead's New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series is finally here...
Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.
After their secret romance is exposed, Sydney and Adrian find themselves facing the wrath of both the Alchemists and the Moroi in this electrifying conclusion to Richelle Mead’s New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series. When the life of someone they both love is put on the line, Sydney risks everything to hunt down a deadly former nemesis. Meanwhile, Adrian becomes enmeshed in a puzzle that could hold the key to a shocking secret about spirit magic, a secret that could shake the entire Moroi world.
Noo...! I read this blurb and all I see is the epic conclusion. The epic CONCLUSION. Whyyyy? Bloodlines is my favorite series by Richelle Mead. I can't get enough of Sydney and Adrian's love story! I'm excited to see how it all ends!
Confess By Colleen Hoover
March 10
Summary:
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a new novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.
Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.
For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.
The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…
Anything by Colleen Hoover has always been amazing! I'm sure this will be no different.
Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver
March 10
Summary:
New York Times bestselling author Lauren Oliver delivers a gripping story about two sisters inexorably altered by a terrible accident.
Dara and Nick used to be inseparable, but that was before the accident that left Dara's beautiful face scarred and the two sisters totally estranged. When Dara vanishes on her birthday, Nick thinks Dara is just playing around. But another girl, nine-year-old Madeline Snow, has vanished, too, and Nick becomes increasingly convinced that the two disappearances are linked. Now Nick has to find her sister, before it's too late.
In this edgy and compelling novel, Lauren Oliver creates a world of intrigue, loss, and suspicion as two sisters search to find themselves, and each other.
I've been in love with Lauren Oliver's writing since the Delirium trilogy came out! I'm excited to see how this book will be received. The plot sounds completely dark and mysterious. I'm have a feeling it's going to be a 'stay up til 2am turning the pages' kind of novel.
The Heir (The Selection #4) by Kierra Cass
May 5
Description:
Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won Prince Maxon’s heart. Now the time has come for Princess Eadlyn to hold a Selection of her own. Eadlyn doesn’t expect her Selection to be anything like her parents’ fairy-tale love story. But as the competition begins, she may discover that finding her own happily ever after isn’t as impossible as she always thought.
Can I first just say, The Selection series novels have the most beautiful covers I have ever seen! It's actually what made me pick up the first novel and read it when it first came out. I was very excited to see that The Heir was coming out, especially since I thought the series was done. Now, I'm excited to learn that this is actually one of two books coming out soon in The Selection series! Yay!
Never Never Part 2 by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher
May 17
Description:
Best friends since they could walk. In love since the age of fourteen. Complete strangers since this morning.
He’ll do anything to remember. She’ll do anything to forget.
I cannot wait for this. I truly cannot. I need all my questions answered immediately. I mean, what in the world was going on in book one?? I have no theories and I want to know so bad. If you haven't read Never Never: Part One yet, I almost suggest waiting until just a little closer to May 17. Otherwise you will be dying to know, just like I am.
Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4) by Marissa Meyer
November 10
Cover has yet to be revealed
This, I think, is the release I am most excited for! I can't wait for everything about it! The cover reveal, the blurb, more information on the plot, all of it! All I know so far is that Winter is supposed to feature Cinder and Snow White (Winter aka Queen Levana's step-daughter) and it's supposed to take place on the moon. Um hello, we finally get to see the world of the Lunars? Omgsh! Cannot freakin' wait!!
The Winds of Winter (A Song of Ice & Fire #6) by George RR Martin
Unknown 2015
This is the release that stresses me out the most. There's no cover reveal being talked about. There's no blurb or summary that's been put out. All we know if that George RR Martin said something about it being released in 2015. I'm not sure if that's likely. ):
Cheers to happy reading and great books in 2015!
